Our Mission Statement

Knollwood Neighbors is an organization formed to encourage communication and cooperation among residents of Knollwood. We will do this by creating and maintaining channels of communication; providing factual information about issues that affect Knollwood; and promoting friendly interaction between Knollwood residents. We will take action on issues affecting Knollwood as deemed appropriate by Knollwood Neighbors members. In all of our activities, we will promote our vision of Knollwood as a friendly community in which residents are proud to live and raise their families.

Why Join Us?

Knollwood Neighbors is your community organization in Knollwood. It’s a way to get to know people in your neighborhood. It’s a way to have a say in what happens to our community. It’s a way to stay informed of what’s going on. It’s a way to get together with neighbors and have some fun!

What Has Knollwood Neighbors Accomplished?

We’ve sponsored annual Community Potluck Picnics for the past five years. We commissioned and installed two custom “Welcome to Knollwood” signs on Waukegan Road and two benches at the West School playground. We founded the Knollwood Garden Club. We launched a community newsletter, FYI Knollwood. We started a New Neighbor Program, in which new residents are greeted with useful information and helpful products and coupons. We’ve formed good relationships with the School District, the Park District, and our state and local elected officials, to ensure that we are kept “in the loop” about any actions concerning Knollwood.

What Does Knollwood Neighbors Do With Membership Dues?

We put on popular community events like picnics and holiday celebrations. We publish a quarterly newsletter, FYI Knollwood, and mail it to members. New members also receive a copy of our “Welcome to Knollwood” booklet. We send occasional mailings to all of Knollwood to encourage membership and to notify people of upcoming events. We welcome ideas from members about what they’d like their community organization to be doing!

Who Can Be a Member?

Anyone may be a member of Knollwood Neighbors. Membership is $25 per year per household; members receive each issue of the quarterly newsletter, the "Welcome to Knollwood" booklet, e-mail alerts and information, and the opportunity to have input on Knollwood Neighbors activities and projects.
